Introduction

New multimedia and graphic experiences are made possible with the growth in computing power and storage. Research in Multimedia focus spans the media spectrum across television, broadband networks, and gaming. There are huge challenges involved in producing, transmitting, and displaying multimedia across networks. The popularity of online gaming highlights the need for further research in this area.

   

Intelligent Multimedia Transaction

This research concentrates on building next generation intelligent multimedia interaction systems. Centering on developing new methods for enabling a mutlimodal, multimedia human-computer conversation. Users can navigate naturally and effectively through large and complex information. The goal of this research is that computers will become proactive human companions that can help users seek information and acquire knowledge.

MARVel: Mutlimedia Search Engine

This multimedia retrieval search engine integrates multimedia based searching with other search techniques such as speech, text, metadata, and other audio-visual features. It also combines content-based and text-based searching for video searching.
