In China, there is a restaurant where their waitresses use PDAs to help customers order. Customers use the PDA to place an order, which will automatically show on the screen in the kitchen. At anytime, the customers want to change their dishe, the information will update in kitchen.
In a restaurant in China, the servers use PDAs to fill the customers' orders. The server will seat the customers at a table then return when they are ready to order. To place an order, the server enters the number code for the dishes ordered into the PDA, and this information automatically appears on a screen in the kitchen. If, at any time, a customer wants to change the order, this information can be entered on the PDA and instantly update the kitchen staff.

Applications are very important tools. There are many different versions of operating systems running on PDAs, such as Blackberry OS, Palm OS, Symbian, Windows Mobile and MacOS for iPhone. The software products available for a given PDA depend on the version of the operating system. Companies like RIM and Apple entice users to purchase applications through their stores because nowadays there is a big market for PDA applications. That's (comment: that's the reason why...)why, these companies provide links to a "Download" website from the home page of their products. PC application and PDA’s application

Applications are tools that help make our life easier. The most significant differences between PC and PDA applications are price and functionality, because the limitation of the space and processor.

Price
PDA applications are written by PDA developers because they're very small, and don’t need many resources. Even thought the applications are small, many PDA users like using them. They cost much less than PC applications. Functionality
PDA application have limited functions because of the lack of the space and processor. For example, Microsoft office is used on PCs as PDAs use Documents for file recording.
