Introduction A supercomputer is an extremely fast computer that can perform 100’s of millions of instructions per second and is used for jobs that take massive amounts of calculating, like weather forecasting, engineering design, nuclear simulations and animations. It has a greater processing power than other computers of its day; typically they use more than 1 core and are housed in large clean rooms with permiting high speed air or water flow.

...by students If you are into building computers from their components, You might be interested to know that the CPU is the trickiest part to replace. This is not because it is small and sensitive but because it is the only component that requires that you apply paste to it's surface to aid in keeping it's temperature down. Furthermore the giant cooling mechanism installed on top of it is often quite difficult to install.
